SQL Assist for SQl Intellisense - Amazing tool
Hello all,
My recent project at my new company Infusion (btw that is the reason I have not been able to blog for a long time ..new job..) I had the opportunity to try out a cool tool for SQL called SQL Assist
It is an awsome tool providing you intellisense in the visual studio environment for SQL (yes for SQL)and its REALLY worth the
price - $29
The main home page for the tool has a nice demo ..Check it out at http://www.roundpolygons.com/
After using this tool, you will wonder how you managed without it !!!
Here are some caveats
* For some reason the "Sql assist" toolbar is disabled, when I open a SQL file for the first time, after opening Visual Studio. I have to Go to the "SqlAssist" menu and click "Configure" and then just click "Ok" on the resulting dialog box and after that anyy SQL file I open a connection is automatically created and the SQl Assist toolbar is enabled
* Not available in Sql Server management studio (Website says that we can expect a release soon )
Other than the above points, Sql Assist is really a cool tool to have in your developers tool collection !!!!
Also Microsoft is not planning to provide intellisense support for T-SQL in the near future!! so a good reason to get teh tool !!
adios
